Art Markets - my dream job?

Art Markets - my dream job?

For years, since I was a kid, I've gone to art markets with my om, my family, alone. I go to get ideas, inspiration, and to support local artists. This last weekend I made my annual pilgrimage to Art in the Park in Boise. This year was different though, because I found myself among peers. A couple of years ago, I started selling my "portable graffiti" at art markets. It made sense. I've loved attending and getting to know artists and the vibe is always invigorating. Since I was creating art, why not try selling. I've done several events, and I must say, it may be my dream job.

I started to create my most current works because of my daughters. I see the horrible things happening in the world, things that could be changed if people had love in their hearts and some sense in their heads. My work is designed to make people think. I want to challenge people to do better. Vending at art fairs has led to finding art friends, repeat customers, people who connect with my work, and a renewed vigor for attempting to create change in the world for my daughters.

This week, I get to sell at Hyde Park Street Fair in Boise, Idaho. It looks to be three days of non-stop fun. I know that my work doesn't resonate with everyone, but I hope to find my crowd this weekend. If you are in the area, come see me. Tons of artists, live entertainment, food, fun, good feelings all around.
